Dr Laura Lee
Clincial Psychologist
I’m Laura, a qualified and HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist where I completed my doctoral training at the University of Southampton. Since qualifying I have worked in the NHS in a secure inpatient unit, supporting individuals with complex and enduring mental health difficulties. Through my training I have worked with individuals across the lifespan and in my current role I support both adults and families. In each of the roles I have held, I have experience of adapting therapy for neurodiversity.
I am passionate about helping people access support for the challenges they may be facing and recognise that everyone can experience difficulties at some point in their lives. I aim to create a calm and non-judgemental space where we can make sense of your experiences and work in a direction that is meaningful to you.
Difficulties I work with
I support clients experiencing a range of difficulties including:
- OCD
- Anxiety
- Panic
- Specific phobias
- Low self-esteem
- Self-criticism
- Low mood
- Burnout and stress
- Anger
- Emotion regulation difficulties
My Approach
I work flexibly and adapt my therapeutic approach to meet your individual needs. I am informed by the evidence base and draw primarily on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and systemic approaches, while also integrating techniques from Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
I see therapy as a collaborative process, where we work together towards the changes that feel important and meaningful to you. It’s important to me that we regularly review our work together and agree on plans for therapy, to ensure it feels helpful and aligned with your needs.
My Values
I recognise that choosing to begin therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel unsure about what to expect. I value creating a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where you feel listened to, understood and supported throughout our work together.
I value creativity and the opportunity to adapt therapies to suit your needs. I am open to us exploring together what adaptations may be most helpful for you.
I also like to work in a strengths-focused way, meaning that we will take time to explore your existing strengths, resources and the things that have helped you cope in the past. Together, we can build on these to support you in moving towards the changes you would like to make.

I offer in person and remote sessions from the Hampshire Wellbeing Consulting Rooms in Hursley on Tuesday evenings.
